Lineage and provenance

Where every table and number came from.

datajoi records lineage at two levels:

• Dataset lineage: sources → lake tables → models. Models' upstream tables are read from their SQL.
• Column provenance: which source column feeds which model column, recorded when a model proposal is approved.

You can see both in Data Catalog → Lineage, export them as standard OpenLineage events, and open the SQLMesh model graph with environments in Data Flows.

#Receipts

An answer's receipt names the tables it read, so you can follow it back to the source. The audit trail records who ran what and when, as a hash of the SQL plus the tables touched, never the rows.
